Notes: This is the first occasion that a list has been collated for publication and the details are not available elsewhere. The list has been compiled from Alan’s own rhododendron documentation that has been bequeathed to the R.S.C.G., but they do not contain copies of Field Notes for all his expeditions. So, details from copies of Field Notes that Alan sent to Ian Sinclair and the Author have been used to produce an overall list.
The 2024 Fall Issue of the ARS Journal that contains the article ‘Alan John Clark: An Appreciation’ was published without including the above list. Unfortunately, the ARS Editor, who never forwarded a copy of the draft article to be backchecked, decided not to include the detailed listing of Alan’s seventeen plant hunting Expeditions, which had been specially researched and collated as these details have never been published and were intended to be a useful point of reference for those International ARS members who have raised Alan’s seed.
